Ok, so my thoughts for today... a good place to begin right?

I am leading a study on the life of David right now. Very interesting as i am not very bible smart, I know a few "popular" verses and stories but not a lot of just general bible knowledge. Something I am working on though :) anyways it was totally Godly coincidence that a book that i am reading right now, like the chapter that i read this morning was all about David's life! WOW! it is so neat to me when these things happen!
It was crazy to me to think in the beginning of our study it mentioned that from the time David was annointed to when he actually became king was 22 years! wow, a lot can change & happen in 22 years. but as i read this morning David lived a BUSY somewhat normal life in those 22 years... after he was annointed he was sent back out to the fields to tend to the sheep and along with watching the sheep and along with that he waited contently on what God had planned for him next... WOW i struggle with that daily. where am i supposed to be should i be doing something more and i doing enough or too much, worry, worry, worry... David did none of that. He trusted in GOD! Psalm 23:2-3 " He makes me lie down in green pastures [rest], he leads me beside quiet waters [reflection], he restores my soul [restoration]. He guides me in paths of righteousness [right choices] for his name's sake [it is all about God, not about David]" David chose to resist the temptation of discontentment by seeing the greater good of this waiting period. WOW!!
So, this book also brought to my attention that David's life is much like my own... along with tending to the seep while he waited he also comforted King Saul with music and served his father by running errands - delivering food & messages to his brothers in the field...Hello! that is the life of a mom like me... tending, serving & running errands ... that is my daily to-do list right there... This bring a whole new perspective to my day to day life...is there a greater good to my daily to-do list? Just like he did with David, can God use my doings of my everyday life to develop me to fulfill my calling. Whao, thats a lot to ingest, but it is SO true :) All the day to day things that David did taught him what he needed to do such great things...1 Samual 17: 34- tells how when tending the sheep David fought off the lion & bear, which prepared him for that battle with Goliath... Who or what in my life is my Lion & Bear... what battle am i being prepared for today?

Peace.
